About the role Appian is seeking a Resource Manager to establish and lead the resource management practice for our U.S. Public Sector (USPS) division. You will build the foundational processes and systems for staffing a team of 250+ professionals, ensuring alignment between project demands and consultant availability.

Full-time, 4-5 days per week in-office - Salary: $125,000 - $250,000 USD
- Design and implement a scalable resource management framework for the USPS theater from the ground up.
- Manage end-to-end allocation, triaging project demand and matching consultants based on skills, availability, and career goals.
- Lead weekly staffing meetings to review demand, manage the bench, and resolve resource conflicts.
- Monitor utilization, project timelines, and capacity risks, providing actionable analysis to leadership.
- Oversee subcontractor relationships, accounting for profitability, clearance requirements, and LCAT structures.
- Partner with delivery leadership and HR to support workforce planning, onboarding, and skill development.
- Maintain high data integrity in PSA systems and communicate the narrative behind capacity metrics.
- 8+ years of experience in resource management, workforce planning, or staffing within consulting or technology services.
- Proven ability to build processes and systems from scratch.
- Experience managing staffing for 250+ billable professionals.
- Direct background in U.S. Public Sector engagements, including cleared personnel and LCAT structures.
- Strong understanding of services economics, including utilization, bench costs, and margins.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets and experience with PSA or resource management platforms.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in a SaaS or software implementation environment.
- Background in administering a PSA or resource management platform.
- Familiarity with process automation software and the Appian platform.
