Shipping & Receiving Technician

Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Receiving

• Receive incoming shipments and verify materials against purchase orders and packing slips.
• Inspect deliveries for accuracy and visible damage, report discrepancies or damage.
• Label, stage, and store materials in designated locations.

Shipping

• Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing shipments according to shipping instructions.
• Generate and attach shipping labels and documentation as directed.
• Load and unload trucks using material handling equipment as trained.

Inventory & Documentation

• Perform basic inventory transactions and data entry in ERP or inventory systems.
• Assist with cycle counts and inventory accuracy initiatives.
• Maintain organized and clean storage areas following 5S standards.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all safety procedures, including PPE requirements and equipment operation guidelines.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment as trained and authorized.
• Maintain compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic understanding of shipping and receiving processes.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn inventory systems.

Education and Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior warehouse, shipping, or receiving experience preferred but not required.
• Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain certification.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a warehouse or manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variation.
• Ability to work assigned shifts, including overtime as required.
