Job Title: Bull Block Machine Operator
Position OverviewSet-up, adjust and operate production machinery to anneal and electroplate various metal alloys and diameters. Operate annealing and electroplating machinery to produce quality products according to specific “Work Instructions”.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Read work orders/bill of materials to determine product specifications.
- Responsible for quantity and quality to meet efficiency rates.
- Use and maintain various types of equipment and machinery.
- Reporting/communicating machinery issues to supervisor/maintenance.
- Inspect products to ensure product excellence and quality using measuring tools (tape measure/micrometer/tensile test machine).
- Obtain all required approvals.
- Use of forklifts, cranes, and hand carts to load/unload machine and to move material to and from machines.
- Record and document production as well as all downtime.
- Ensure and observe all safety and housekeeping rules and guidelines, including carrying out daily safety inspections.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Inspect material during processing to ensure proper quality is maintained.
- Complete all documentation and turn in work order to supervisor.
- Train new operators.
- Cut samples for quality control.
- Work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Work in confined spaces.
- Complete all assigned training, including monthly health and safety sessions.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Adjust machinery including changing dies, speed, temperature, process gases, etc.
- Consistently string payoff; point weld, and grind material as applicable.
- Consistently set up by measuring wire diameter between each draw.
- Work in various temperature environments.
- Work in a dusty environment.
- Read SDS’s to familiarize with chemicals used.
- Work overtime as required.
- Assist production manager and other operators as necessary.
- Ability to communicate – verbal and written.
- Ability to perform basic math functions with accuracy.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Constant standing & walking.
- Frequent pushing, pulling, & reaching.
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- 1–2 years in industrial machinery.
