Job Title: Multi Hole Machine Operator ( Machine Operator-HFV AB HIV X3)
Shift: 1 st Shift
Position Overview: The Multi Hole operator will be responsible for the set up and operation of the Multi Hole Machine. This includes continuously monitoring speed, coating level and wire surface quality. Additionally, the operator will become proficient in the various job specific skills required by a Multi Hole Operator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read work orders/bill of materials to determine product specifications.
- Responsible for quantity and quality to meet efficiency rates.
- Use and maintain various types of equipment and machinery.
- Reporting/communicating machinery issues to supervisor/maintenance.
- Inspect products to ensure product excellence and quality using measuring tools (tape measure/micrometer/tensile test machine)
- Obtain all required approvals.
- Use of forklifts, cranes, and hand carts to load/unload machine and to move material to and from machines.
- Record and document production as well as all downtime.
- Ensure and observe all safety and housekeeping rules and guidelines, including carrying out daily safety inspections.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Inspect material during processing to ensure proper quality is maintained.
- Complete all documentation and turn in work order to the supervisor.
- Train new operators.
- Cut samples for quality control.
- Work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Work in confined spaces.
- Read SDS’s to familiarized with chemicals used.
- Authorize to request the initiation of an internal corrective action.
- Place material on hold, if necessary, stop production when nonconforming wire is found.
- Complete all assigned training, including monthly health and safety sessions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Department
Duties and responsibilities:
- Adjust machinery including changing dies, speed and temperature.
- Consistently string payoff; point weld, and grind material as applicable.
- Consistently set up by measuring wire diameter between each draw.
- Focus on machines that need constant attention.
- Work in various temperature environments.
- Work in a dusty environment.
- Maintain focus on safety quality and productivity.
Other Duties:
- Work overtime as required.
- Assist production manager and other operators as necessary.
- Ability to communicate – verbal and written.
- Ability to perform basic math functions with accuracy.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Constant standing & walking.
- Frequent pushing, pulling, & reaching.
Preferred qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Forklift experience preferred.
- 1-2 years in industrial machinery.
- Predictable and consistent attendance is required.
