Production Manager, Operations Manager

The Production Supervisor ensures safety, quality, and operational excellence for their shift and value stream. The role includes directing daily, weekly, and monthly objectives, coordinating the production floor, and maintaining right‑first‑time and on‑time delivery to customers.
Responsibilities- Direct daily activities of the production floor in compliance with company policies, federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, FDA, and cGMP standards.
- Own and drive safety culture, investigate incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Communicate operational challenges and execute course corrections for safety, quality, service, cost, or personnel.
- Facilitate line/shift handoff prior to departure each day.
- Plan and execute activities with procurement, maintenance, warehouse, and quality departments through active communication.
- Utilize problem‑solving tools to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Manage staffing levels to meet required service levels, including vacation and holiday coverage.
- Participate in the interview/selection process of hiring.
- Educate and train staff using TWI methodology to ensure adherence to performance expectations.
- Perform associate evaluations through Quantum, providing feedback and development.
- Own and actively drive KPIs for the value stream through visual control boards and line communications.
- Analyze equipment, personnel, and shift performance for improvement opportunities, develop plans, and execute projects.
- Manage time and attendance daily and approve payroll.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor.
- Associate’s Degree in a related field and/or 1‑3 years related experience and/or training.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Intermediate computer skills; proficiency with various computer programs.
- Full professional proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing.
- High reasoning ability to solve practical problems.
- Can interpret a variety of instructions provided in various forms.
- History of successful supervisory responsibilities.
- Preferred:
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, present information effectively, and set and achieve challenging goals. - Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
For candidates in Illinois, the hiring rate is $62,960.00 to $70,830.00, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.
