SUMMARYThe part‑time Produce Quality Control Evaluator is responsible for monitoring the quality of highly perishable produce and refrigerated items (e.g., dairy, cheese, etc.) daily to maintain customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Monitors product to ensure consistency with quality, quantity, and specification requirements.
- Checks produce in slots daily to verify product meets acceptable standards before shipping to customers.
- Communicates all quality issues with the Produce Quality Control Supervisor and/or the Produce Buyer.
- Rotates product properly during daily slot checking and reports any rotation problems to the Warehouse Managers.
- Inspects inbound freight, warehouse product, and outbound product and documents product condition.
- Communicates regularly with necessary parties on the status of product quality.
- Observes all safety rules, regulations, and sanitation policies.
- Performs filing and copying.

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENTThis job operates in a warehouse cooler setting, where extreme cold, noise, and vibrations from forklifts and other equipment are present. Occasional use of pallet jacks or forklifts may be required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSStanding, walking, sitting, using hands to handle objects or tools, reaching with hands and arms, climbing, talking, and hearing are required. The employee must see colors and may need to lift or move items weighing 10–100 pounds.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORKThis is a part‑time, non‑exempt position. Typical days and hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; schedules may vary as directed by the Director of Purchasing, the Produce Buyer, or the Produce Quality Control Supervisor. The role may involve long hours and weekend work.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh School diploma or equivalent.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEPrior knowledge of produce products.
