Position: ELECTRONICS EQUIPMENT REPAIR INSPECTOR (TITLE 32) with Security Clearance
Duties As a ELECTRONICS EQUIPMENT REPAIR INSPECTOR (TITLE 32), WG-2604-12, you will inspect the repair of electronics equipment to ensure that physical and operating characteristics are within acceptable standards and specifications. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list:
* Use a wide variety of inspection techniques to inspect standard electronic systems such as radar, radio communications receivers, and transmitters (single band, UHF and VHF), mobile subscriber equipment (MSE), missile guidance systems, laser range finders, and electronic fire control systems.
* inspect heavy mobile artillery, small arms, powered support, optical, and other equipment or components of equal or lesser complexity.
* Conduct inspections, diagnoses nature and extent of equipment malfunction, and as required, perform required maintenance to restore to a serviceable condition various types of tactical computers, radio sets, etc.
* Use various types of test equipment such as systems tests sets, frequency meters, standing wave indicators, oscillators, AN/GRM-122s, and other electronic testing devices to inspect equipment and components.
* Inspect equipment to determine repairs needed.
* Utilize established Maintenance Expenditure Limits (MEL) to evaluate economic feasibility of repair(s).
* Consider a variety of factors such as cost and availability of parts, man-hours, and impact of time constraints on the mission to assess whether repair is economical.
* Perform in-process inspections to ensure that equipment is being repaired in accordance with pertinent requirements.
* Perform final inspection, certifying that equipment is in satisfactory operating condition, or rejects the work and returns the equipment to the repair shop with specific reports prescribing additional repairs. Requirements Conditions of employment
* This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the Illinois National Guard and in the military grade listed in the announcement. This is required prior to the effective date of placement. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying for this position.
* Selectee will be required to wear a military uniform.
* Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
* Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
* Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
* May be required to successfully complete a trial period.
* This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
* IAW The Fair Chance Act, Agency employees may not request criminal history information at the point of initial application, upon receipt of an application, or prior to, during or after a job interview. If an Optional Form (OF) 306, Declaration of Employment is submitted prior to the point of a conditional offer, questions related to background information section may not be asked.

* Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
* Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Qualifications AREA OF CONSIDERATION:
The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), the only area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG. Military Grades:
Enlisted/Warrant Officer - NTE CW3 GENERAL EXPERIENCE :

MUST possess experience or training which demonstrates your knowledge of electrical or electronic theory, knowledge of common testing procedures, skill in the use of hand tools of the electronics trade, and skill in reading schematics. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : WG-12 Level MUST possess experience or training in utilizing principles, basic functions, and application of theory of electronic systems or equipment; experience in diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic equipment or systems;

experience in making mechanical repairs that required the use of precision measuring and calibrating equipment; experience in using complex test equipment such as deviation meters, complex special test panels, etc; experience which demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional;
