Minimum Starting Salary: $70,000 + bonus structure

Summary:
The Manager and Sponsorship Account Executive is responsible NPR Illinois' budget and funding portfolio, acting as NPR's revenue strategist and manager. The MSAE will be the primary executive securing funding from businesses, foundations, and individuals to support the public journalism of NPR Illinois and the Illinois Public Radio Network through sponsor ships and acknowledgments in digital, broadcast, and print media. This position engages with area businesses for the purpose of securing sponsorship and advertisement revenue.

The position will also oversee all annual giving and non-gift business revenue.
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop sponsorship business gifts and revenue, requiring identifying prospects, securing meetings, doing client needs analysis, responding with off-the-shelf or custom proposals (asks).
• Manage sponsorship execution, closing orders, entering, writing, and producing announcements, securing digital creative, entering digital orders, billing, stewardship, and renewal. If revenue results allow the addition of another sponsorship account executive in the future, this position will supervise it.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with current business supporters. Anticipate, meet and/or exceed donor needs, wants, and expectations - customer service. Develop stewardship techniques to ensure renewals and added commitments.
• Supervise and coordinate overall fundraising and revenue activities and resources to maximize revenue, create a positive culture, and retain talent. Tracks all revenue KPIs to exceed goals. Goals need to exceed prior fiscal year results and include additional revenue to cover fundraising labor and expenses.
• Supervise the annual giving/marketing coordinator ’s community engagement efforts and promotional partnerships to grow audience and convert into financial supporters, and to create sponsorship opportunities. Support fundraising events, donor appreciation gatherings, and community engagement initiatives.
• Supervise the annual giving/marketing coordinator ’s promotion of NPR Illinois’ relevant content, services, and events using digital and broadcast inventory, external advertising, and partnerships. Strong supervision of planning and tracking of digital marketing. Oversee digital and website updates related to membership, campaigns, and promotions.
• Coordinate with the Director of Development, Major Gifts, and UIS Office of Advancement to align goals, communicate on donors, and collect data for full reporting of all revenue for NPR Illinois.
• Support supervisor in executing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
2. Minimum of three years sales experience

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Master's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
2. One (1) year of previous public radio underwriting experience

Ability to communicate persuasively to groups and individuals
Ability to organize, manage multiple assignments, and be self-directed in leading oneself, staff, and volunteers to actively solicit funds from businesses, nonprofits, foundations, and other prospects
