Job SummaryThe Workforce Supervisor is responsible for overseeing workforce development programs that assist clients in gaining employment, job training, and career advancement. This role ensures that services align with the mission of the nonprofit, meet grant and funding requirements, and effectively support clients in achieving economic stability. The Workforce Supervisor will manage staff, coordinate with community partners, and implement strategies to improve workforce readiness.
Key Responsibilities Program Management & Development- Oversee the daily operations of workforce development programs, ensuring compliance with agency policies, funder requirements, and government regulations.
- Develop and implement workforce training, job placement, and career counseling initiatives to support clients’ professional growth.
- Monitor program performance, track outcomes, and prepare reports for leadership and funders.
- Identify new workforce development opportunities and assist with grant writing and funding proposals.
- Supervise and support workforce development staff, including case managers, job coaches, and employment specialists.
- Provide training, coaching, and professional development opportunities to enhance team effectiveness.
- Conduct regular team meetings to assess program progress, address challenges, and implement improvements.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven work environment.
- Oversee client assessments to determine workforce readiness and career development needs.
- Develop partnerships with employers, training providers, and community organizations to enhance job placement opportunities.
- Advocate for clients by connecting them with employment resources, vocational training, and career coaching.
- Ensure equitable access to workforce development programs for diverse populations, including immigrants, refugees, and underserved communities.
- Maintain accurate records of program activities and client progress.
- Ensure compliance with grant funding requirements, workforce regulations, and nonprofit best practices.
- Prepare and present reports on program outcomes, challenges, and successes to leadership and stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Workforce Development, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in workforce development, employment services, or social services.
- Previous experience supervising staff and managing programs in a nonprofit or social service setting.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of workforce development strategies, employment laws, and career coaching principles.
- Proficiency in data tracking, reporting, and program evaluation.
- Ability to work with diverse populations, including individuals facing barriers to employment.
- Experience with grant-funded workforce programs and compliance reporting.
- Bilingual proficiency in [relevant language] is a plus.
- Office-based with travel to community sites, employer partners, and workforce events.
- Some evening and weekend hours may be required based on program needs.
