American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level I trauma center position in Illinois, requiring at least three years of OR and trauma experience.

• Work in the Operating Room of an acute care, Magnet-designated Level I trauma hospital
• Assignment involves all service lines except cardiovascular (CV) surgery
• 23 operating rooms with diverse surgical case types including bariatrics, general surgery, neurology, orthopedics, plastics, transplant, urology, and trauma
• Patient populations include bariatric, emergency/trauma, neuro, ortho, plastics, general surgery, transplant, and urology
• Day shift:
  Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM (3x12s, weekends required)
• On-call required approximately once per week
• Rare floating within skill set may be required to meet facility needs
• Uses Cerner EMR; experience preferred
• Scrubs are provided for this role
• Responsibilities include preparing and circulating during complex surgical procedures and emergency cases
• Work as part of an interdisciplinary surgical team in a high acuity, fast-paced environment
• Parking permit provided at no cost; form completed during orientation
• All requested time off must be reviewed and approved by the manager
• Orientation and training provided at the start of the assignment

• Active IL RN license in hand or in process
• Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience required
• Required certifications: BLS; CNOR and CST preferred
• Level I trauma OR experience required
• General OR and trauma experience required
• Documented experience in bariatric, general, neuro, ortho, plastics, transplant, trauma, and urology surgical cases as listed
• Must have experience with electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and Hana tables
• Experience in code response, infection control, radiation safety, specimen handling, time out protocols, and urinary catheterization required
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to apply
• First-time travelers are not accepted
