American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a Level I trauma center in Springfield, IL, requiring a minimum of 3 years of OR experience across multiple service lines and an active IL RN license.

• Operating Room setting within a 562-bed acute care, Magnet-designated, Level I trauma center
• 23-room OR covering multiple service lines including general surgery, neurology, orthopedics, plastic surgery, transplant, urology, and trauma — CV service line excluded
• Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, 6:45 AM–5:15 PM
• One weekend shift required per month
• On-call required approximately once per week
• Charting is performed in Cerner (experience preferred)
• Scrubs are provided for this role
• Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility is required of all travelers

• Active IL RN license required; must be in hand or in active application process
• Current BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards not accepted)
• CNOR certification preferred
• Minimum 3 years of OR experience required
• Level I trauma center experience required
• General OR and trauma experience required
• Experience with bariatric (laparoscopic assisted), general surgery, neurology, orthopedic, plastic surgery (free flap/microvascular), transplant (organ donation), and urology cases required
• Trauma case experience required: amputations, gunshot/stab wounds, MVA with multiple injuries
• Emergency management skills required: code response, fire safety, latex allergy protocol, malignant hyperthermia management
• Equipment experience required: electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords, Hana tables
• Professional skills required: blood product administration, infection control, radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, Universal Protocol (Time Out), urinary bladder catheterization
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Former permanent or PRN employees of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travel pairs are not accepted
• Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• All requested time off is subject to manager review and approval
• First‑time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Free parking is available on‑site via permit obtained during orientation
