Registered Nurse

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will work on a 25-bed Medical Surgical unit specializing in Urology/Nephrology, providing care to an average daily census of 23 patients. The role involves day shift work, every other weekend, and potential floating to other Med Surg units. The RN will be responsible for providing skilled nursing care, case management, and hospice care to individuals facing advancing age, frailty, and serious illness.

Daily tasks include patient assessments, medication administration, treatment planning, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

- Patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning.
- Collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Telemetry- remote monitoring.
- Use of Rapid Response Teams.
- Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management.
- Renal failure management.
- Blood Product Administration.
- Central line blood draw.
- Peripheral Line Care/Management.
- PICC line management.
- Starting IVs.
- Heparin administration.
- Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac.
- CPAP/BiPAP.
- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC).
- Nasal Cannula.
- Non-invasive airway management.
- Oral suctioning.
- Portable Oxygen tank management.
- Isolation Precautions.
- Wound Care/Wound Vac.

Required Skills &

Certifications:

- Active IL RN license.
- BLS certification.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in medical/surgical nursing.
- MS/Tele experience.
- Med/Surg experience.
- Cerner experience.

Preferred Skills &

Certifications:

- Solid foundation as an RN for first-time travelers.

Special Considerations:

- Will work every other weekend.
- Will float to other Medical Surgical units.
- No on-call requirement.
- Acute Care Hospital - Level I trauma center.
- Magnet hospital/facility.

Scheduling:
- Day shift .
- Every other weekend required.
- Open to accommodating block schedules, but not guaranteed.
- Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen week assignment without paying for the cancelled hours.
