Position Title
Ambulatory Clinic RN - Dermatology Days – Full Time, Indian Creek 10740, Medical Pavilion
Position SummaryThe ambulatory clinic registered nurse has the authority, responsibility, and shift accountability for the delivery of nursing care using the nursing process. The RN applies independent nursing judgment for care provided by self and by health‑care providers to achieve quality patient outcomes, and assesses patient data to identify each patient's age‑specific needs.
Responsibilities- Provides direct patient care within the ambulatory setting, following the nursing process and scope of practice.
- Performs preliminary assessment of patients through observation and chart review to facilitate appropriate follow‑up with the health‑care team.
- Evaluates unstable or complex patient care situations and facilitates appropriate interventions.
- Implements appropriate clinical decisions and demonstrates use of expert peers and/or management as applicable.
- Accepts accountability and uses independent nursing judgment for care provided by self and by other providers.
- Demonstrates appropriate use of standards, effective use of resources, and evaluates patient response in the delivery of care.
- Identifies teaching and learning needs of patients and provides educational instruction to patients and families.
- Evaluates effectiveness of patient and family teaching and documents findings in patient charts.
- Responds to or refers incoming patient treatment‑related phone calls.
- Completes necessary forms (e.g., FMLA, DME, Home Health orders) and obtains physician signatures as appropriate.
- Performs professional, clinical, and technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
- Other duties may be assigned as required.
Education and Experience
- High School Graduate
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- At least 6 months of RN experience
- At least 2 years of RN experience to serve as Ambulatory Clinic RN PRN
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) – Multi‑State or Single State, active with multistate application in progress.
- Current active multistate or single state RN license in good standing in the state of residence or work location.
- Staff hired before 2/1/2024 must obtain a multistate RN license by 4/30/2026.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – Heartsaver, obtained within 14 days.
