Job Overview
Registered Nurse position in the Interventional Cath Lab responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care delivery. Full‑time, 40‑hour work week.
Responsibilities- Collect relevant data about the patient’s health and recognize normal and abnormal findings.
- Collaborate with the attending physician, cardiologist, and radiologist to provide necessary radiology and cardiology procedures.
- Plan and evaluate care in collaboration with appropriate disciplines for assigned patients.
- Demonstrate clinical competence when providing patient care.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
- Analyze assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnoses, problems, and issues.
- Direct and guide other healthcare workers and assume accountability for delegated nursing activities.
- Establish and maintain communication with patients, families, and health teams, promoting participation in the care plan.
- Evaluate progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes, reporting data to appropriate physicians and other disciplines.
- Implement care and supervise care delivered by other team members in alignment with the care plan and safety/infection control standards.
- Pursue required knowledge and skills through orientation, in‑service programs, current literature, and new clinical learning opportunities.
- Make decisions using the nursing process, taking actions consistent with nursing standards and licensing laws.
- Manage an environment that promotes patient self‑esteem, dignity, safety, and comfort.
- Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or situation.
- Participate in staff education, evaluation of patient care delivery, and research conducted at the health system.
- Develop a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes.
- Practice within the ethical and legal framework of nursing, fostering high standards and addressing ethical dilemmas.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic and interventional procedures; administer intravenous imaging contrast under a radiologist’s direction as needed.
- Establish effective working relationships with peers, physicians, and other members of the health‑care team; confer with appropriate resources regarding patient care decisions.
- Seek assistance when situations exceed the nurse’s knowledge and experience.
- Serve as a patient advocate.
- Employ teaching strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
- ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing) required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
- BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, per the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
Estimated compensation range: $35.43 to $54.92 per hour, based on experience.
