RN Pain Clinic – PRN Job Description
Department:
Pain Clinic
Hours:
Full-time / 40 hours per week
Required:
ADN, RN, ACLS and BLS/CPR certification within 90 days of hire
Pay: based on experience, starting at $33.73 per hour
RN-Pain Clinic performs at a competent level of nursing practice and is performed in accordance with the standards of practice for the area. Performs patient care and service through a multidisciplinary team approach. Functions to maintain an environment of competence, caring and concern for patients and staff members.
- Assessment: Collects pertinent data and information relative to the patient's health or the situation and recognizes normal and abnormal findings when gathering data.
- Assists with Pain Clinic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Collaborates with physicians and other members of the health care team to address issues related to patients through mutual information sharing, discussion, and decision making.
- Consistently documents care and service in accordance with current Plan for Provision of Care systems (e.g., Meditech) and protocols.
- Consistently processes patient charges for procedures and supplies correctly.
- Coordination of Care: Plans and evaluates care in collaboration with appropriate disciplines for assigned patients.
- Diagnosis: Analyzes assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnosis, problems, and issues.
- Educates patients and families appropriately for their procedures and treatment
- Evaluation: Evaluates progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes, reports data and outcomes to appropriate physicians and/or other disciplines.
- Handles patient phone calls for patient education and/or reassurance needs.
- Implementation: Implements care and supervises care delivered by other team members in alignment with the plan of care and approved safety and infection control standards.
- Knowledge: In collaboration with Leader/Director, actively pursues required knowledge and skills through orientation activities specific to the unit, unit-based in-service programs, reading current literature, and seeking new clinical learning opportunities.
- Outcomes Identification: Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or situation.
- Participates in the ongoing variance monitoring of clinical pathways.
- Planning: Develops a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes.
- Relationships: Establishes effective working relationships with peers, physicians, and other members of the health care team; identifies and confers with appropriate resources regarding patient care decisions.
- Teaching: Employs teaching strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
- ADN (Required)
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (within 90 days of hire)
- BLS or CPR certification (within 90 days of hire)
- RN – Registered Nurse (required)
Estimated Compensation Range: $33.73 – $52.28 per hour, based on experience.
