Overview
The Ambulatory Nurse utilizes a systematic approach to nursing by incorporating assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the practice of nursing. Provides healthcare to individuals, families, and communities within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Illinois Board of Nursing.
Qualifications- Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA)
- College Diploma in Nursing
- Provide and facilitate competent health care of patients and families in area of practice.
- Ensure adherence to established standards of care and scope of practice.
- Ensure documentation of care is complete and accurate.
- Provide health and wellness education to individuals and groups.
- Act as preceptor and support the development of other staff and healthcare students.
- Provide leadership for initiatives designed to improve the quality of care or clinical outcomes.
- Administer medication (IM, PO, rectal, IV, SQ and inhaled).
- Perform procedures such as ear washes, nebulizer treatments, peak flows, splint applications, crutch training, wound care, point of care testing, IV starts and therapy, vision screenings, EKG, catheterizations, and suture/staple removal.
- Assist providers with procedures such as vaginal exams, suture and staple placement, and incision and drainage.
- Serve as member of the Code Team.
- Act as Resource Nurse for assigned shifts.
- Preceptor for new employees.
- Perform telephone triage and work in basket.
- Room patients, including obtaining vital signs, medication reconciliation, and chief complaint.
- Perform patient education.

CompensationThe compensation range for this position is $32.21per hour - $55.4per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
