Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse

Overview

Prime Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN (Operating Room) for a travel nursing assignment in Springfield, Illinois.

Start Date: 06/08/2026
Duration: 13 weeks
Hours: 40 hours per week (8‑hour shift, 4x10‑hour day 08:45‑19:15)
Shift Type: Day 4x10‑hour
On‑Call: 1 per week
Weekend: 1 per month
Employment Type: Travel

• Minimum 3 years RN experience with general operating‑room and trauma case mix.
• Level I trauma experience required.
• Case skill set:
  Bariatric (laparoscopic assisted), General surgery (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, mastectomy, thyroidectomy, Whipple), Neurology (cervical fusion, craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion), Orthopedic (arthroscopy, carpal tunnel release, fracture reduction), Plastic surgery (free flap microvascular), Transplant organ donation, Urology (cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy), Trauma (amputations, gunshot/stab wounds, MVA).
• Required equipment experience: electrosurgical units, fiber‑optic light sources/cords, Hana tables.
• Certification: BLS required; CNOR preferred.
• Active Illinois RN license required (or in application process).
• Proficiency with Cerner charting system preferred.

Pay package based on 8‑hour shifts, 40 hours per week, with tax‑free stipend (amount to be determined).

Must be willing to travel 50+ miles from the facility; local applicants not considered for this specialty.
