Travel Nurse RN - PreOp​/PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN for a 13‑week assignment in Springfield, Illinois. The role provides specialized pre‑operatory and post‑anesthesia care, ensuring patient safety and comfort during the surgical recovery period.

• Assess patients pre‑operatively, review history, perform physical exams and identify risks.
• Educate patients about procedures and postoperative care.
• Receive and conduct comprehensive assessments of patients transferring from the operating room, monitoring post‑anesthesia condition.
• Monitor patients post‑operatively for complications, manage pain and recovery.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
• Document patient assessments, interventions and recovery progress in medical records.
• Collaborate with the surgical team and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive pre‑ and post‑operative care.
• Participate in patient handoff communications to ensure continuity of care between units and departments.

• Minimum one year recent experience as a Pre/Post‑Op RN.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification.
• Preferred ACLS and PALS certifications.

• Critical thinking, service excellence and effective communication.
• Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull and bend.
• Interpersonal skills to work effectively with a variety of personnel.
• Technical/motor skills to perform fine manipulation and assist with procedures.
