Certifications:
BLS and NIH required. ACLS preferred.
- Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience.
- Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response skills.
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
- Experience with post-cardiac procedures and care.
- Feeding tube care and management experience.
- Pre/Post Hemodialysis management.
- IV therapy and phlebotomy skills.
- Heparin protocols and management of cardiac and vasoactive drips.
- Experience with neurological cases, orthopedic cases, and plastic surgery cases.
- Care of ventilated patients and management of chest tubes.
- Familiarity with isolation precautions and wound care.
This position is for an IMC/Stepdown/PCU RN. The nurse will work three 12-hour shifts during the day. The daily patient ratio is typically 1:4. The unit takes patients with various diagnoses. The environment is fast-paced with high patient throughput. The charge nurse may occasionally take on a limited patient load. Candidates must float within the facility or to affiliated facilities as needed.
All necessary certifications and skills will be verified prior to hiring. The nurse must be prepared to manage a range of complex patient needs. Candidates should possess strong communication and teamwork skills. Documentation will be through an electronic health record system. Candidates are expected to adhere to safety and quality standards in patient care. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
