Job Summary and QualificationsRegistered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act. Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice, maintains a safe therapeutic environment, identifies nursing problems as they relate to individual patient needs, plans individualized patient care using an interdisciplinary approach, participates in performance improvement activities, and coordinates participation fostering the goals of the hospital’s mission and vision statement.
Responsibilities- Assess plans and evaluate patient care needs and carry out physician orders.
- Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
- Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate using computerized documentation systems.
- Instruct and educate patients and families as part of a multidisciplinary care planning team.
- Identify nursing problems as they relate to individual patient needs and plan individualized care using an interdisciplinary approach.
- Registered Nurse from accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure with Tennessee Board of Nursing.
- Current BLS certification.
- One year of registered nurse experience required.
- NICU/Nursery experience preferred.
