RN Registered Nurse - CVICU | Springfield, Illinois

Deliver advanced cardiovascular care by providing support in a dynamic Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. • Full-time hours with flexible shift options to accommodate your needs
• Rotating weekends and holiday coverage as needed

• Valid and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
• Proven clinical expertise in managing critically ill cardiac and vascular patient populations
• Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking abilities
• Ability to thrive in high-stress, collaborative settings

• Deliver skilled, evidence-based nursing care for patients recovering from cardiovascular surgeries, heart attacks, and other complex cardiac events
• Continually assess, monitor, and document patient conditions, interpreting data from cardiac monitors and equipment
• Administer prescribed medications and therapies, ensuring safety and compliance with protocols
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, perfusionists, respiratory therapists, and other members of the care team to develop individualized treatment strategies
• Act as a patient advocate, providing support and education to patients and their families
• Maintain meticulous records and participate actively in shift handoffs for optimal continuity of care
