Infusion Nurse Practitioner; Part-Time

Position Overview

Metro Infusion Center (Affiliated with Metro Infectious Disease Consultants) seeks a licensed Nurse Practitioner for supervision and administration of infusion therapy on a part‑time basis. The position is based at the clinic in Springfield, IL, with a schedule of 3 days (24 hours) per week on flexible weekdays.

• Place and maintain peripheral IV catheters for infusion therapy needs, with ongoing assessment of the IV site
• Prepare medication for IV administration as ordered
• Administer IV therapy via electronic pump, troubleshooting pump alarms, or via gravity/dial‑a‑flow tubing
• Document infusion charting and patient messages in the EMR system
• Address patients’ questions or concerns related to adverse effects, side effects, diagnosis, and treatment within the scope of a mid‑level provider
• Use clinical judgment to evaluate activities and prioritize patient care needs
• Monitor the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment
• Participate in activities that facilitate good interpersonal communication with the facility
• Agree to cover any clinic as needed per direction of the Manager of Clinical Operations
• Support professional practice by observing: (1) Standards of Nursing Practice; (2) JCAHO, state and local laws; (3) MIDC policy
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Valid Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license
• At least two years of NP office practice experience, preferably in an infusion‑related practice
• Infusion experience
• Chemo experience is preferred, but not required
• Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters for immunocompromised patients: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID‑19
