Infusion Nurse Practitioner; Part-Time

Metro Infusion Center (Affiliated with Metro Infectious Disease Consultants)

Metro Infusion Center is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner to supervise and administer infusion therapy on a part‑time basis at the clinic located in Springfield, IL.

Schedule:

3 days (24 hours)/week (flexible weekdays)

• Place and maintain peripheral IV catheters for infusion therapy needs with ongoing assessment of IV site.
• Prepare medication for IV administration as ordered.
• Administer IV therapy via electronic pump with troubleshooting of pump alarms and/or administration via gravity/dial‑a‑flow tubing.
• Document infusion charting and patient messages in EMR system.
• Address patient questions or concerns related to adverse effects/side effects, diagnosis, treatment, etc. within scope of mid‑level provider.
• Use clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs and establish priorities.
• Monitor the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
• Participate in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with facility.
• Agree to cover any clinic as needed per direction of the Manager of Clinical Operations.
• Support professional practice by observing the following:
  Use knowledge and practices in accordance with Standards of Nursing Practice; JCAHO, state and local laws; and MIDC policy.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned.

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Valid APRN.
• At least 2 years NP office practice experience, preferably in an infusion‑related practice.
• Infusion experience.
• Chemo experience is preferred, but not required.
• Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID‑19.
