New Graduate Nurse - Emergency Department

Overview

The Emergency Trauma Center at Mercy is a Level 1 Trauma and Stroke center serving patients across Missouri, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. The department includes 70 exam/treatment areas, trauma suites, a dedicated pediatric emergency department, specialty behavioral health resources, a SANE program, and an Emergency Trauma Center Nursing Fellowship. A career path is available for graduate nurses.

• Perform direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort.
• Execute duties consistent with nursing practice guidelines, Mercy Health System standards, and the State Nurse Practice Act.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality emergency care.
• Support staff and patients in the fast‑paced emergency environment.

• Education
  :
  Graduate of a state‑approved School of Nursing.
• Licensure
  :
  Current RN license with the Missouri State Board of Nursing or a Missouri temporary work permit.
• Experience
  :
  Hospital‑based experience required; preferred one year in an Emergency Department.
• Certifications
  :
  • ETC and Acute Care Center RNs must hold a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within their probation period.
  • ETC RNs must hold a current ACLS card or complete a course within six months of hire.
  • ETC RNs must also hold current PALS or ENPC and TNCC cards or complete those courses within one year of hire.
