RN Nephrology - 7am-7:30pm
- Part-time
RN-Nephrology performs at a competent level of nursing practice and according to the standards of practice for the area. The role involves patient care and service through a multidisciplinary team approach. RN
- Nephrology performs bedside dialysis for acutely ill dialysis patients and works directly with hospital nursing staff, ensuring complete care for our Kidney Disease Community. The RN is expected to maintain an environment of competence, caring, and concern for patients and staff members.
Hours: 7am-7:30pm (days vary), part-time
Responsibilities- Accepts reassignment as directed by management based on staffing levels and patient volumes.
- Administers medication as directed by the provider, including intravenous therapy.
- Documents appropriate medical justification and effectiveness of medications.
- Applies the nursing process to patients and family education to promote compliance with the plan of care.
- Assesses, collaborates, and documents patient/family's basic learning needs.
- Assesses patients based on communication, signs, symptoms, and current data.
- Collaborates with direct and ancillary patient care staff as needed.
- Assists providers with patient exams, treatments, and procedures.
- Maintains cleanliness and inventory of exam rooms and work spaces, including proper disposal of outdated items and labeling of multi‑dose vials.
- Cleans and sterilizes equipment and instruments in accordance with infection control regulations.
- Plans and evaluates care in collaboration with appropriate disciplines for assigned patients.
- Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnoses, problems, and issues.
- Provides safe and effective patient care for assigned patients as prescribed.
- Communicates patient requests, needs, and observations to providers.
- Evaluates progress toward goals and outcomes, reporting data to physicians and other disciplines.
- Follows universal precautions at all times.
- Implements care and supervises care delivered by other team members.
- Initiates and assists with emergency response measures.
- Pursues required knowledge and skills through orientation activities, unit-based in‑service programs, and current literature.
- May provide specialized nursing care instruction to hospital and facility staff.
- Obtains provider initials or signatures on phone message communications to verify accuracy.
- Active RN in the State of Illinois.
- ADN (Required).
- ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.
- BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
- Registered Nurse credential issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
Estimated compensation range: $37.23 - $57.71 per hour, based on experience.
