Travel Operating Room RN

Overview

Prime Staffing is seeking a travel RN - Operating Room to work in Springfield, Illinois, starting 08/03/2026 for a 26 week assignment. The role requires 36 hours per week, 12 hour shifts. The salary package is a tax free stipend to be determined. Minimum 3 years RN experience required, must hold an active IL license.

The RN will perform surgical procedures and support all service lines except cardiovascular. The role is rotational among OR, trauma, and other specialities per patient needs. Day and night shifts (4x10 hour blocks). Provide on call coverage (approximately 1 week per month). Work in a Level I trauma, Magnet designated acute care hospital with total 562 beds. Clinicians will use Cerner for charting and will probably use "Hana tables".

• Minimum 3 years RN experience (particularly OR or General Surgery)
• Active Illinois RN license (or in process)
• BLS required; CNOR preferred; additional certifications (e.g., CST) optional
• Proficiency with Cerner charting system (preferred)
• Experience performing the following procedures:
  General surgeries: appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic assisted procedures, mastectomy, thyroidectomy (partial/total), Whipple
• Neurology: cervical fusion, craniotomy, laminectomy/discectomy, lumbar fusion
• Orthopedic: arthroscopy, carpal tunnel release, fracture fixation (open/closed reductions)
• Plastic surgery: free flap microvascular
• Transplant: organ donation
• Urology: cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy
• Trauma: amputations, gunshot/stab wounds, multiple vessel injuries
• Emergency: code response, fire safety, latex allergy management, malignant hyperthermia
• Equipment: electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, Hana tables, Da Vinci Xi (preferred)

CNOR, CST, DSL; experience with robot surgery systems; knowledge of radiation safety; proficiency in pelvic procedures (e.g., hysterectomy); abdominal and vaginal surgical experience.
