Scientific Research Assistant - Temporary​/Part Time

The Bartke lab is seeking a summer research assistant to continue research on endocrine-related genes and dietary interventions in eye health. This position is on site only.

• Perform basic laboratory procedures such as solution preparation, sample processing, pipetting, cell culture support, microscopy, molecular biology techniques, or animal research support (as appropriate and approved).
• Collect, organize, and record experimental data accurately in laboratory notebooks and electronic databases.
• Read and discuss scientific literature relevant to assigned research projects.
• Assist with data analysis, graph preparation, and interpretation of experimental results.
• Prepare a final presentation summarizing internship activities, research findings, and learning outcomes.

• Must currently be enrolled as a college student. For summer appointments, transcript or grade slip verification of enrollment during the spring semester prior to appointment is required (student  is not sufficient).
• Must have successfully completed no less than 30 semester hours of college coursework, with at least one course in the field of science or biology with related laboratory training.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
