Position Summary
The Store Consultant consistently delivers a positive customer experience to all customers, utilizing consultative skills to anticipate needs, suggest alternatives, and provide solutions. This customer service focused team member is knowledgeable in all areas of the Store's business, including print, signs & graphics, and shipping. Responsibilities include taking orders, coordinating store activities, providing pricing and product information, and recommending appropriate Fed Ex Office products and services.
The Consultant operates and maintains a variety of equipment, moves boxes and equipment, stocks materials, manages the production queue and output, handles complex projects, manages retail supply, and completes tasks based on priority.
- Full‑time employees eligible for medical, dental, and/or vision coverage and FSA on date of hire.
- Part‑time employees eligible for medical, dental, and/or vision coverage and FSA after 91 days of employment and a minimum of 17 average hours per week.

- Follows supervisors’ instructions and assists other team members in performing store functions.
- Assists in training store team members.
- Demonstrates consultative behaviors to understand each customer’s individualized needs.
- Provides expertise in printing, signs and graphics and shipping product lines and recommends appropriate Fed Ex Office products and services.
- Provides outstanding customer service by anticipating needs, suggesting alternatives, and finding solutions.
- Ensures all customer problems are resolved quickly and to satisfaction.
- Processes complex customer orders using the order system and provides accurate pricing information.
- Assembles parcels and prepares goods for shipping: wraps items, inserts into shipping containers, weighs packages, affixes labels.
- Sets up and operates printing, binding, and related equipment using customer‑supplied media and documents.
- Maintains a safe, clean and orderly retail store.
- Ensures confidentiality of customer data and careful handling of documents, media and packages.
- Processes financial transactions with a POS, including handling cash and making change.
- Cleans, repairs and stocks all retail store printing and shipping equipment and supplies.
- Stays current on store merchandising materials and ensures proper display of all products and signage.
- Takes preemptive action to prevent errors and waste.
- Completes required financial paperwork and may assist with financial reporting including daily sales, close‑outs and bank deposits.
- Follows Fed Ex Office standard operating procedures and all relevant policies and procedures.
- Performs multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Seeks opportunities to improve knowledge and skills within the retail store.
- Operates with minimal supervision.
- Adheres to all Fed Ex Office team member and retail store standards as outlined in the handbook.
- Performs any other duties as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 6 months of specialized experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand entire shift (excluding meal and rest periods).
- Ability to move and lift 55 pounds.
- Ability to bend, twist at waist and knees.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and team members.
- Ability to follow instructions and work cooperatively.
