The Sales Teammate position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill the mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Sales Teammates perform sales, merchandising, and operational tasks assigned by store management (cashiering, merchandise display, register procedures, and routine cleaning).
Responsibilities- Welcome guests with a friendly, engaging attitude.
- Answer questions about the store and its merchandise.
- Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on guest needs.
- Use product knowledge to demonstrate merchandise and inform guests.
- Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, policies, and security practices.
- Meet or exceed personal sales-per-hour, average sales, and total net sales goals set by management.
- Provide legendary service in front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and register area.
- Assist guests with fitting, checking out, bagging purchases, and preparing merchandise for alterations.
- Follow exchange and return procedures and use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) daily.
- Place special orders or call other stores to find desired merchandise.
- Develop and maintain good guest relationships and client‑based business.
- Perform merchandising tasks (handling freight, remerchandising, displays, markdowns, transfers).
- Open and close cash registers, count money, balance cash drawers, and make deposits.
- Identify and respond to security risks, thefts, and loss prevention procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable store.
- Communicate policy violations and concerns to store and district managers and HR.
- Participate in special projects or other duties as assigned.
- Recognize recruiting opportunities and promote store via jobs & careers cards.
- Build and maintain professional floor culture.
- Present merchandise to maximize sales.
- Stay current on product range.
- Work with teammates and guests to provide product feedback.
No prior experience or training required.
Physical DemandsJob requires standing, walking, handling items up to 30 lb, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and occasional sitting. Ability to lift and maneuver 30 lb. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus. Noise level is moderate.
