Purpose of Job
Under limited supervision, the Sales Effectiveness Lead drives sales through direct engagement and development of the local and regional sales team. This role serves as a consultant to the sellers, gathers and disseminates best practices from top performers, executes training programs, deal coaching, organizes market strikes within their regions, and provides ongoing assistance as needed in content creation of core curriculum necessary to ensure success for the team members we support.

- New representative training, onboarding, deal coaching, Sales Summits, Growth Clinics, Customer Pursuit Calls, and additional 1:1 deal coaching/focused topic training as needed
- Pipeline reviews, pre-call planning, and role plays
- Monthly in-field ride‑alongs with local sales members to evaluate seller strengths and opportunities for improvement, live coaching on tools and techniques, Game Plan/Game Film, sales calls
- Assist in sales planning for seller markets, develop relationship/trust with team members, identify best practices leveraged and potential "sales plays" to share with the system
- Measure and report on the effectiveness of sales training and coaching investments
- Assist in creation, development, management, and successful execution of cross‑functional sales effectiveness training and coaching programs
- Coach and communicate with field sales leaders to ensure effective support of them and their teams in pursuit of system growth
- Travel 50% in field including Sales Summits, team meetings, and field work with sellers
- Provide monthly touchpoints with each seller within region focused on relationship building and proactively identifying areas of opportunity
- Serve as subject matter expert on Interstate Batteries product, value proposition, sales tools, sales plays, and sales process to support sellers
- Minimum 5+ years of field sales experience
- Experience with Salesforce and/or similar CRM
- Very strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills
- Ability to work in and manage ambiguity
- Understanding of sales process and its value
- Excellent communications skills including presenting, editing, writing and attention to detail
- Exposure/knowledge of common sales methodologies and CRM
- Preferred: award‑winning hands‑on sales experience
- Sustained seated posture for prolonged periods
- Regular use of hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk
- Close visual, depth perception, ability to adjust focus
- Occasional lifting/moving 20+ lbs
- Prolonged use of personal computer & telephone
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle
Salary: $69,055 – $100,000
