We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Electrical Controls & Automation Sales Account Manager to join our growing team. This role is responsible for developing new business opportunities and maintaining strong customer relationships throughout the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana region.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of automation products, electrical control products, and manufacturing environments, along with a proven track record in technical sales. Key Responsibilites- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities within assigned territory.
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts.
- Consult with customers to understand needs and recommend electrical controls and automation solutions.
- Conduct sales presentations, product demonstrations, and technical discussions.
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and project estimates.
- Coordinate with engineering, project management, and purchasing teams to ensure successful implementation of products and solutions.
- Maintain regular contact with customers, OEMs, integrators, contractors, and manufacturing facilities.
- Track sales activities and opportunities through CRM software.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities as needed.
- Meet or exceed established sales and revenue goals.
- 3–5 years of outside sales experience in electrical controls and automation products.
- Strong understanding of electrical control and automation products.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills.
- Self‑motivated with strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana territory.
- Experience selling controls and automation products including PLC, HMI, VFD, or control panel solutions.
- Technical degree or relevant industry experience are a plus.
