We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Carrier Sales Representative to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in carrier sales within the freight brokerage sector, demonstrate excellent negotiation skills, and have a deep understanding of transportation logistics. This role is crucial in expanding our carrier network, maintaining strong relationships, and ensuring the efficient movement of goods for our clients.
- Identify, recruit, and onboard new carriers to expand the company’s transportation network.
- Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with existing carriers.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for carriers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Negotiate competitive rates and terms with carriers to ensure profitability while maintaining service quality.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets by effectively matching carrier capacity with customer demand.
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure smooth execution of shipments.
- Monitor carrier performance and compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and carrier availability to inform sales strategies.
- Provide insights and recommendations to management for business growth and process improvements.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in carrier sales within the freight brokerage or transportation industry.
- Proven success in meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- College degree is preferred.
- Strong understanding of transportation logistics, carrier operations, and market dynamics.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
- Self-motivated with a strong drive to achieve and exceed goals.
