Position Overview This position is accountable for providing services and expertise to local agencies both directly and through the Local Roads and Streets (LR&S) Field Engineers in the planning, programming, engineering, and administration of federally funded and Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) projects. Essential Functions Determines the district's annual and multi-year local Federal-Aid programs with assistance of the Field Engineers and local agencies.

Coordinates and monitors the status of and recommends decisive and positive action for all local agency Federal-Aid projects. Assists in preparation or review of environmental reports, project development reports, project agreements, and plans and specifications for conformance with established policies, standards and procedures, and recommend approval. Provides input for Federal-Aid programming and TIP sheets for local federal projects, also follows through on commitments made at the critical stages of project development.

Updates or supervises the updating of the Local Roads database so all information is current. Oversees the biennial inspections and postings of the local agency's bridges. Supervises seasonal staff to ensure the efficient and timely completion of assignments. Performs duties in compliance with departmental safety rules. Performs all duties in a manner conducive to the fair and equitable treatment of all employees.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Completion of two years of college in civil engineering technology, pre-engineering or a job related technical/science curriculum PLUS six years of engineering experience; OR eight years of engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications Strong oral and/or written communication skills.

Conditions of Employment Requires a valid driver's license. Requires the ability to travel district wide and work overtime. Requires successful completion of a background screening.
