Part Time Police Officer

Job Summary

This hybrid position combines Route Security Officer and Route Technician responsibilities. The role ensures the safety of employees and property, surveys potential risks, loads redemption terminals, maintains equipment, and supports law enforcement investigations.

• Provide overwatch and physical security for collection teams, including driving a follow vehicle during transit.
• Maintain vehicle operations, obey traffic laws, and adhere to SOP for redemption terminal loading and collections.
• Perform rapid site surveys, assess safety concerns, and monitor tactical situations.
• Deliver and collect cassettes to customer locations per schedule and document all movements.
• Remain alert, follow safety protocols, and monitor for mishandling that could cause loss.
• Maintain continuous communication with security personnel while on route.
• Respond to workplace violence, provide first aid, and use appropriate force levels.
• Carry out first aid, respond to weather or structural emergencies, and assist with evacuations.
• Take photographs of suspicious persons or situations and report via Slack or to a security supervisor.

• Active duty or retired certified Illinois law‑enforcement officer.
• Minimum of seven years law‑enforcement experience.
• Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capable of working independently and as part of teams.
• Strong tactical, weapon‑handling, organizational, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
• Clean driving record, valid driver’s license, and willingness to drive long distances.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Illinois Gaming Board Terminal Handler’s License.

• Stand, sit, walk, talk, and hear frequently; use hand and finger dexterity.
• Drive long distances as required.
• Occasionally lift or push up to 50 pounds.
• Remain certified in CPR/AED and first aid.
• Use protective equipment such as firearms, flashlights, restraint gear, etc., when necessary.
• Work under moderate noise levels and various weather conditions.

Base pay range: $30.00 per hour. Salary is influenced by qualifications, experience, and skillset.
