Job OverviewUnder limited supervision, perform repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment. Work may involve carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding. Conduct routine or special inspections to identify needed repairs, use hand and power tools to test, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machines and equipment, and work from blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
Train or check the work of other facilities staff. Provide support and leadership guidance to volunteers. Work in compliance with standard operating procedures, Federal, State, and local regulations. This role is not eligible for relocation assistance.
Education: High School or equivalent required. Trade license may be required.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in painting, HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work is required.
Skills & Abilities: Previous truck and/or bus driving experience is desirable. Must have basic writing and communication skills and basic computer skills. Must have a current valid driver’s license and good driving record. Ability to work on a team. On‑call duties may be required.
Travel: Drive vehicles to other locations.
