Mechatronics Technician

Viridian Staffing’s () Client is looking for a Mechatronics Technician to support equipment and facility operations in Springfield, Illinois, area. This is a full‑time, permanent position.

In this role, you will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and complete repairs designed to minimize operational downtime. You will support automated production and packaging equipment, along with general facility systems, and respond to maintenance needs as they arise. You should be comfortable working with mechanical and electrical components and have exposure to pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated control systems. You will also document maintenance activities, assist with parts and supply coordination, and ensure work is completed in accordance with established safety and operational procedures.

Occasional travel between facilities may be required.

Your background should include at least 2 years of experience maintaining or repairing automated equipment in a manufacturing, production, material‑handling, or similarly regulated environment. You should have experience performing preventative maintenance, reading electrical schematics or blueprints, and documenting work through a computerized maintenance management system. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers and automated conveyor systems is required. Experience working with robotics or coordinating with outside service providers is preferred.

You must have a high school diploma or equivalent, although an associate degree or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or a related field is preferred. You should possess strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities, communicate effectively, and be comfortable safely using hand and power tools. This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move equipment or materials, and perform the physical responsibilities associated with maintenance work in a production environment.

Compensation: $55,000–$80,000 annually
