Sr. Area Safety Manager

The Sr. Area Safety Manager provides strategic oversight and day-to-day management of safety and regulatory standards for transportation operations across a designated geographic area. This role acts as the primary conduit for performance data, ensuring all regional facilities, fleet activities, and transit hubs align with corporate policies, client requirements, and Federal, Provincial, or State mandates.

• Monitor and ensure regional compliance with all applicable transportation safety regulations and logistics standards.
• Lead the rollout of new fleet safety programs, driver training modules, and supply chain risk-mitigation projects.
• Collect and analyze regional performance metrics to identify trends and provide actionable recommendations for improving transit safety.
• Oversee root‑cause analysis for vehicle or operational incidents and coordinate with legal/risk departments on claims management.
• Recruit, coach, and develop a high‑performing regional team; ensure all staff meet mandatory certifications for the transportation industry.
• Serve as the point of contact for safety‑related inquiries from clients, community partners, and internal leadership regarding regional logistics.

• 7+ years of progressive leadership in transportation, logistics, or supply chain safety with multi‑site responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant professional safety or fleet certifications are highly desirable.
• Proven ability to lead behavioral change within a mobile workforce and interpret complex operational data sets.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and transportation management software or telematics technology.
