Regional Distribution Center - Inventory Coordinator

Position Description

American Tire Distributors (ATD) is looking for an Inventory Coordinator to work with the operations team on the 2nd shift (Mon–Thurs 4:00pm‑2:30am). The role focuses on ensuring proper scheduling and processing of inbound loads, maintaining accurate yard and inventory records, and coordinating with purchasing to resolve ASN variances. The coordinator will use ATD’s IMS, SharePoint, ORACLE and other tools to manage container movements and invoice verification.

• Communicate with team members via 2‑way radio to update dock and yard locations and container/trailer information daily.
• Conduct pre‑checklists and operate powered industrial equipment (forklifts, order pickers) safely to transport products between locations, adhering to all safety standards.
• Enter empty, full, and recently unloaded containers into the tracking system daily to record movements within the mixing center.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies, locate missing products, and replenish shortages as needed.
• Meet with the operations team to discuss incoming volume, priority unloads, and upcoming needs for domestic and international containers on 24‑, 48‑, and 72‑hour horizons.
• Notify the operations supervisor and lead of any incorrect product quantities identified by put‑away teams that require relocation to correct storage locations.
• Perform daily cycle counts using TELNET software to verify product quantities.
• Receive container invoices via email, verify charges against IMS and SharePoint schedules, contact providers for clarifications, and expedite issues.
• Reconcile daily yard checks to maintain accurate records of containers and trailers in the yard and update schedules for arrivals, departures, and pickups.
• Use ORACLE Inventory daily to identify storage locations needing physical product counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Utilize Symbol Scanner to transfer products between designated storage locations and correct inventory variances noted in ISO paperwork.
• Coordinate with the corporate purchasing team to resolve ASN variances.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

• High School diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years of related experience (warehouse or inventory coordination).
• Proficiency with computer applications and office equipment (IMS, SharePoint, ORACLE, TELNET).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑moving environment.
• Basic math and record‑keeping skills.

This position requires standing, walking, sitting, using hands and arms for handling objects, and occasionally lifting objects up to 50pounds. Workers must also be able to climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The work environment involves exposure to weather conditions and moderate noise levels. Travel may be required up to 5% of the time.
