Warehouse Associate 1st Shift

Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Warehouse Associate in Elwood, Illinois. The role pays hourly at $20.00 per hour and is scheduled Monday‑Friday 7:00am‑3:30pm.

• Perform warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Maintain accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, and staging of products.
• Load and unload trucks, and handle day‑to‑day paperwork such as picking sheets, returns, and bills of lading.
• Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during core shift hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Operate within performance measurement guidelines of the contract.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• Valid Forklift Operator's License certified.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up practices.
• Highly thorough and dependable with a good attendance record.
• Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs and stand for long periods of time.
• Proficient in health and safety methods.
• Available to work a flexible schedule across various shifts.
• Initiative and high level of accuracy, even under pressure.
