Job Description

We are in the process of hiring an Accounting Clerk in Methuen, Massachusetts. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity in the finance industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial data, assisting in the preparation of financial documents, and supporting the accounting team.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately enter financial information into accounting systems, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Conduct basic reconciliations of accounts such as bank statements, invoices, and vendor statements to ensure accuracy
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel to create and maintain spreadsheets for tracking financial data, perform calculations, and generate reports
  • Assist in preparing financial documents including invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records and filing systems
  • Liaise with internal departments and external vendors to resolve discrepancies and answer inquiries related to financial data
  • Support the accounting team during month-end closing processes by ensuring all data is accurately entered and reconciled
  • Ensure that all financial data is recorded in compliance with company policies and relevant regulations
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance team as needed
  • Use skills such as Account Reconciliation, Data Entry, and Microsoft Excel in daily tasks
Qualifications
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong skills in Account Reconciliation
  • Excellent abilities in Data Entry tasks
  • Good understanding of general accounting principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage stress effectively in high-pressure situations
