Cost Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Inventory Accountant to join our accounting and finance team. This is a

non-exempt position and reports to the Senior Cost Accountant.

• Track expenses related to labor, materials, subcontractors, and other costs for each location.
• Collect, review and enter daily productions from the field and reconcile discrepancies.
• Review intra-company inventory movements including proper transfer pricing.
• Collect monthly energy readings from Plant Managers for monthly accrual posting
• Weekly review of inventory reports and analysis of variances by locations
• Prepare cost-related reports for management.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Assist with scheduling inventory flyovers and readings, reconcile with perpetual inventory
• Contribute to accurate financial statements and external audit support
• Assist in monthly review of productions with the division and site leadership
• Assist in analyzing and establishing standard costs for produced materials.
• Regularly review and update cost standards.
• 10-15% travel required, based out of West Springfield office.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Proficiency in cost accounting principles; HMA and Aggregate industry preferred
• Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills; self-motivated and curious
• Very comfortable with Microsoft Office products including proficiency in Excel.
• Familiarity with Vista a plus
• Education and Experience Required. Associates degree or higher in accounting or equivalent field experience
• 3-5 years of general accounting experience to include payroll, accounts payable or accounts receivable.
