Accounting Specialist

Description

Our client in Springfield, Massachusetts is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has experience supporting day-to-day financial operations with accuracy and efficiency.

The Accounting Specialist will play a key role in maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and supporting month-end activities. This is a great opportunity to join a growing organization and showcase your accounting skills with the potential to transition into a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

+ Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts

+ Assist with month-end close and financial reporting activities

+ Prepare and post journal entries

+ Maintain accurate financial records and documentation

+ Support payroll processing and expense reporting as needed

+ Research and resolve accounting discrepancies

+ Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate financial data

Requirements

+ 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related finance experience

+ Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel

+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

+ Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

+ Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred

Preferred Experience:

+

Experience with ERP systems or mid-size company accounting environments

+ Knowledge of general accounting principles and reconciliations

+ Prior experience in a contract, contract-to-hire, or fast-moving business setting is a plus
