Senior Director Business Development

I’m currently partnered with a confidential clinical research services organization that is looking to hire a Senior Director, Business Development as part of its senior leadership team.

This is a genuinely senior role, reporting into executive leadership, with real ownership over growth strategy, new business, and key client relationships
. It’s a great opportunity for someone who knows the IRB space and wants more influence over commercial direction, not just a quota.

• Leading business development strategy across sponsors, CROs, and research partners
• Identifying and winning new business while also growing existing accounts
• Building long-term relationships with senior decision-makers in clinical research
• Working closely with leadership on market positioning, pipeline strategy, and growth plans
• Keeping a close eye on the market, competitors, and where future opportunities sit

This isn’t a “hands off” role, you’ll be expected to think strategically and stay close to clients.

• Solid experience in the clinical research industry (5+ years)
• Previous commercial IRB experience is essential
• A proven background in business development or sales, ideally at a senior level
• Comfortable opening doors, managing strategic accounts, and closing deals
• Someone credible with sponsors and CROs, not a transactional salesperson
• Confident working in a fast-moving, growing environment

Degree preferred, MBA a bonus, but experience matters more than titles here.
