We are partnering with a rapidly growing consumer products company that develops and distributes trend‑driven products sold through major national retailers. The organization operates at the intersection of product innovation, licensing, sourcing, retail strategy, and speed‑to‑market, creating products that connect with today's consumers and emerging trends. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded Product Manager who is passionate about consumer products, entertainment, licensing, retail, and product innovation.

The ideal candidate combines strong product management skills with a merchant mentality, understanding both what consumers want and how to build profitable product lines.

Position Overview

The Product Manager will play a critical role in identifying new product opportunities, managing licensing relationships, supporting sourcing initiatives, and driving product development from concept through retail execution. This role requires a highly collaborative individual who can work cross‑functionally with Sales, Creative, Product Development, Purchasing, Operations, and external licensing partners while maintaining a strong focus on profitability, growth, and execution.

The successful candidate will be equally comfortable discussing product concepts, negotiating with suppliers, managing licensors, analyzing margins, and supporting retail growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage licensed and non‑licensed product portfolios across multiple categories and retail channels
  • Identify emerging trends, whitespace opportunities, and growth categories
  • Build and maintain relationships with licensing partners and entertainment brands
  • Lead product development initiatives from concept through launch
  • Collaborate with sourcing and purchasing teams to optimize costs, improve margins, and support profitability goals
  • Work closely with overseas manufacturing partners and suppliers
  • Support vendor negotiations, costing analysis, and product commercialization efforts
  • Manage inventory planning, forecasting inputs, and order book requirements
  • Monitor category performance, product sales, and portfolio health
  • Analyze consumer trends, competitive activity, and retail opportunities
  • Partner with Sales teams on presentations, line reviews, and customer initiatives
  • Coordinate with Creative and Product Development teams to ensure successful execution of product launches
  • Participate in trade shows, market research, competitive shopping, and trend analysis
  • Identify risks, solve operational challenges, and drive projects to completion
  • Ensure products meet brand standards, retailer expectations, and quality requirements
Qualifications
  • 3–7+ years of experience in Product Management, Category Management, Brand Management, Merchandising, Buying, Licensing, or Consumer Products
  • Experience with in toys, hardlines, collectibles, entertainment products, licensed merchandise, consumer goods, or retail strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working with overseas manufacturers and suppliers
  • Strong negotiation, sourcing, and commercial decision‑making skills
  • Understanding of margin management, product costing, and profitability drivers
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong analytical, communication, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to balance creativity with business and financial objectives
  • Passion for consumer products, trends, entertainment, gaming, pop culture, and retail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Power Point
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
