The Role
We're looking for a Purchasing Specialist on behalf of our client. This is a 1-year contract assignment (W-2). You will manage and maintain existing purchase orders, including updates, confirmations, and issue resolution. You will support special projects such as identifying and resolving past-due purchase orders, data cleanup, validation activities and preparing the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) system for the transition to GEP.
You will report to the onsite manager.
Key Responsibilities- Create purchase orders (POs) and ensure timely processing.
- Manage and maintain existing POs, including updates, confirmations, and issue resolution.
- Support special projects, such as identifying past-due POs, performing data cleanup and validation activities, and preparing the SRM system for transition to GEP.
- Collaborate with internal teams – procurement, planning, finance, and suppliers – to ensure smooth purchasing workflows.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audits and reporting.
- Help with process improvements and standardization efforts across the supply chain function.
- Experience in supply chain, procurement, purchasing, or related operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (sorting, filtering, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- Comfortable working with ERP, SRM, or procurement systems.
- Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
- Familiarity with GEP or similar procurement platforms.
Competitive pay: $25.00/hr to $30.00/hr, depending on experience, qualifications, and skills.
