This role is responsible for preparing complete and accurate construction cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing, while ensuring estimates are ready for management review and client submission. The position involves performing detailed take-offs, analyzing project documents, coordinating with vendors and subcontractors, and identifying scope changes or estimating risks throughout the bidding process. The individual will work closely with leadership to review estimate accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and maximize project profitability.
Success in this role requires strong estimating expertise, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple bid activities under tight deadlines.
- Perform accurate quantity take-offs and develop comprehensive cost estimates for mechanical construction projects.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to obtain pricing, clarify project requirements, and evaluate quotations.
- Review project documents, scope changes, and estimate details to ensure completeness, accuracy, and profitability before bid submission.
- 5–10 years of mechanical estimating experience, including experience in a lead or senior estimating capacity.
- Proven experience reviewing take-offs and collaborating with leadership to finalize estimates for customer submission.
- Strong knowledge of construction documents, bidding processes, subcontractor management, and cost analysis.
