Substation Construction Manager

About The Role

We’re looking for a Substation Construction Manager on behalf of our client. This is a one‑year contract assignment (W‑2). The department:
Solar/BESS Substation.

Location:

Juno Beach, FL. Per diem at GSA rates.

• Prioritize and enforce safety protocols on the job site, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Perform inspections, maintain QA/QC documents, and audit construction quality to ensure specifications are met.
• Communicate with team members, clients, and stakeholders throughout the project.
• Keep detailed records of construction activities, progress reports, and safety inspections.
• Lead construction activities, monitor tasks, provide feedback, and resolve conflicts.
• Leverage extensive knowledge of electrical schematics, mechanical, civil, and steel structural drawings.
• Apply safety regulations and practices, identifying and addressing hazards.
• Resolve issues that may arise during construction, keeping the project on track.
• Work with concrete, flat foundations, drill piers, breaker pads, and GSU containment pits.
• Collaborate with EPC to resolve requests for information (RFI) and change orders.
• Perform material procurement and take‑offs.
• Review projects post‑completion, reporting successes, lessons learned, and improvement opportunities.
• Operate safely around energized equipment at hazardous voltage levels.
• Use project management software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Project) and specialized substation construction tools.
• Assist with turnover and support commissioning efforts through energization.

• Five years of experience in substation construction management.
