This position requires that you be able to work full-time in our Springfield, MA office upon hire. We will NOT consider remote employees for this position.
Salary Range: $65,000-$72,000

Dietz & Company Architects is hiring a motivated and talented Design Associate/Design Staff I at our office in Springfield, MA. This is an excellent opportunity to be a contributing member of collaborative project teams where you can grow your career working with leading architects.
You will work closely with project leaders and interdisciplinary design teams to develop design concepts into presentation materials and construction documentation. Your daily experience in our high-performance teams will expose you to diverse project types throughout all design phases, including on-site field work. Requirements- 3+ years of experience in an architecture design firm
- Bachelors degree in Architecture or related field
- Foundational understanding of technical aspects of architecture practice including construction documentation, building science, sustainability, building code, zoning and planning
- Working knowledge of current and historic construction methodologies (wood frame, mass timber, steel, and concrete)
- Intermediate to advanced level Revit user with beneficial knowledge of Sketchup
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)
- Must be able to work full-time in-person at Springfield, MA office.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

- Concept development (diagrams, renderings and informational graphics) for early design phases for client presentations
- Developing project design and documentation through layout and development of floor plans, sections, and elevations under the guidance of project architects.
- Researching products and materials for project use
- Construction administration project support, which includes answering questions from contractors (RFIs) and developing supplemental construction sketches (ASIs) all under the direction of the Project Architect.
