Per Diem, Orthopedic Trauma Physician Assistant

Baystate Health is a not-for-profit, integrated healthcare system in western Massachusetts which consists of an academic medical center, three community hospitals and the region’s largest multispecialty group. Our flagship hospital, Baystate Medical Center, is home to the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School-Baystate.

We are seeking a Per diem Physician Assistant to join our Orthopedic Trauma Surgery team located at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass.

• Join a highly respected orthopedic trauma service alongside fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeons and experienced advanced practice providers in a collaborative, APP-driven practice environment.
• Provide high-acuity orthopedic trauma care at a premier Level I Trauma Center, managing complex injuries across the Emergency Department, Trauma Service, Intensive Care Units, and inpatient settings. Participate in operative care as a first assistant and play an integral role throughout the patient care continuum.
• Practice at the top of your license with a diverse and challenging patient population while benefiting from a comprehensive onboarding program, dedicated mentorship, and ongoing professional development opportunities.

This position is per diem, hours and availability based on department availability and may include days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Per diem employees are not eligible to receive the benefits available to regular full and part-time employees except for pension eligibility if working 1,000 hours or more in a calendar year.

Qualifications:

Board Eligible or certified Physician Assistant. Ideal candidates will possess at least 1 year of experience in Orthopedics.

Compensation: $100.00 Days & Evenings Monday-Friday/ $110.00 Days & Evenings Weekends & Nights (all 7 days) & Holidays.

The compensation ranges in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range.

Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
