About the Role

The Head of St Peters Springfield holds overall responsibility for the leadership, culture and performance of the Springfield school, reporting to the Head of College and working in close partnership with the College’s executive leadership.

This is a role of significant breadth and influence, suited to a leader who is both educationally grounded and commercially astute—able to think strategically while remaining highly visible and engaged in the daily life of the College.

As a values-led leader, the Head of St Peters Springfield sets the tone for student learning and care, staff wellbeing and performance, and the responsible stewardship of people, resources and facilities. The role calls for sound judgement, strong relational capability and the confidence to lead a learning community with clarity, humility and purpose within a Christian educational context.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Christ-centred leadership that advances the College’s mission, culture and identity
  • Lead and continually strengthen high-quality teaching, learning and co-curricular programs
  • Foster an environment where students are known, supported and challenged to thrive
  • Build and sustain a high-performing staff culture focused on growth, wellbeing and accountability
  • Lead strategic, academic, operational and financial planning aligned with College priorities
  • Oversee enrolments, growth initiatives and the positive promotion of the College
  • Steward facilities, resources and master planning in line with delegated authority
  • Ensure strong governance, compliance, risk management and child safety practices
  • Cultivate trusted relationships with parents, alumni, church groups and the wider community
  • Collaborate effectively with shared corporate services and College leadership to support long-term sustainability

What You Bring

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a Kindergarten to Year 12 College environment
  • Current registration with or potential for registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT)
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in education, with postgraduate qualifications in leadership or educational leadership highly regarded
  • A genuine and lived commitment to faith-based education, preferably within the Lutheran tradition
  • A leadership presence that is calm, visible and grounded in integrity
  • Strong instructional leadership with a clear focus on student learning and wellbeing
  • Strategic capability, with the confidence to lead growth, change and continuous improvement
